Talk at the University of Bologna

On April 11, 2025, I gave a talk at the University of Bologna’s Political Science Department on “The Power of Ideas and Discourse in the Rise of Populism: A Transatlantic Perspective.” In the presentation, I discussed the current rise of populism in Europe as well as the challenges represented by the Trump presidency, both in fueling further populism but also in possibly generating a backlash against it, with varying impacts depending up the European country in question.
